The market of Place du Châtelain is considered by many as the reference market in Brussels.
When the sun is in the game, the atmosphere is really nice , it looks like a small village where time stops ... slowly.
Open until 7pm, it became a place of appointment after work , where we meet friends and where the day often ends late, because of the bars abound nearby.
The market is a little sore, a little expensive , a little " place to be" , but in the end , very family friendly , a relaxed atmosphere , simple and good-natured , and that's what why we come back.
What we'll you find there?
Stalls of clothes and jewelry first. But people come especially there to shop and / or eat .
You will find many products , the from the South first. Medjool dates, the best piadina in the world ( it seems ), a great Pad Thai , sushi, Asian, South American and African . And if you prefer french products , you can enjoy small black olives of Nice, the anchovy , the ham or rillettes, a little ashy goat ...
In many small producers you can buy quality and season fruits and vegetables.
The foodtrucks complete the picture , you will undoubtedly find your happiness.

The market of Place Flagey
Eat oysters , drink wine ... and go to the market !
Place Flagey itself is worth the trip : an art deco building with a boat shape, terraces where one basks happy when the sun shines , fountains whose children love to play with water jets.
And for those who have more time , why not stop and enjoy a glass of wine with a little indulgence ?
What do you find there?
You will find a multitude of original products, bio (or not), from over the world, to consume differently, avoiding intermediaries: some food truck ( Veggie also) and small producers are there to serve you: pancakes, Moroccan pancakes, cookies, bifanas (portuguese sandwiches), farm yoghurts ...
Fruits & vegetables from the farm of Hoste had a success (it is always necessary to queue), but the product quality is worth it.
Caterers (Italian, Vietnamese, Greek, ...), of spices and exotic goods sellers. Beside this, you also find crafts in several cheese makers, butchers (offering beautiful roast chicken) and there is even a fishmonger. In short, I think we must be difficult not to find happiness.
For a drink, you'll find it on the market: smoothies, wine, iced tea / lemonade in Sin, Champagne for more chic, and for beer lovers, the Grail, the Westvleteren 12 and Westvleteren Extra 8 you find a home in a cheese stand. Not to mention the aperitif / input noon, you can
